Eco-anxiety is a chronic fear of environmental doom.
This is our third collaborative event as part of the STAND Festival. Climate change is an overwhelming topic. When people think about the changing planet and the damage we've done it's hard not to feel overwhelmed. You are allowed to feel fear, anger, despair and grief. But there is hope. We live at a time where there is decades of debate, climate science and activism behind us. A lot of work has already been done. That doesn't stop us feeling the way we do. This workshop teaches participants how to manage those feelings and stay mentally healthy.

This Wednesday, the 12th of December. the MU Environmental Soc is hosting a Christmas fair in the SU Foyer.
We want to celebrate the upcoming holidays and promote the idea of a sustainable Christmas.
Often holidays are a time of consumerism, with us all buying unnecessary gifts and food we know we don't need. To help avoid this, we'll be providing lots of easy but effective tips and tricks to make your Christmas more eco-friendly, from reusing things that you already have, sustainable gift giving and more sustainable gift wrapping.
We ll be showing you a number of zero waste products from Green Outlook. We're also running a competition with some lovely prizes generously donated by local Maynooth businesses, including The Glass Doll, nbsp;L'Art du Chocolat and our very own Maynooth Green Campus Group.

Have you ever walked passed the library and asked yourself "I wonder what those big wooden panels are for?" Or caught yourself looking at the sculpture outside Iontas and thought "What's the point in that?" Do you admire the flowers and trees on South Campus or have you ever simply asked yourself "What does Green Campus actually do???"
If you've answered yes to any of the above then this is the talk for you! Maynooth University's Energy Manager Mr. Ciaran Coffey will be giving us a talk this Wednesday at 12pm in Classhall F, Arts Block to explain to us all what Maynooth University Green Campus actually does and why.
There'll be tea, coffee, and biscuits on the day and feel free to bring along your lunch too! See you there :~)
