Open Virtual Activity Link »A few words from Dave: Yin yoga is a great practice for this time of the year with winter approaching and especially with the circumstances around us. Yin is all about meditation and the ability to sit with yourself and sit with your breath in stillness and really just observe the sensations in your body, it is a really amazing process there's no kind of goal it's just really about sitting in the now embracing the now. Generally, we will hold the posture for 5-10 minutes and then move onto another posture and we normally get through five or six postures within in the hour. Props would be suggested but they're not essential, ideally a block and a few cushions or pillows would be great, but you can also do Yin without props either. Look Forward to seeing you on the mats soon! |

Open Virtual Activity Link »A few words from Carol: Hi Everyone, my name is Carol and I'm going to be teaching the Pilates classes from November, I've been teaching for about sixteen years in Maynooth now and I've been teaching at the college for about 3 years with the Yoga Society. I am a personal trainer, a breathwork coach and a Reiki practitioner, as well as a qualified Pilates instructor and I like to incorporate all of those kind of extra little things into my classes. So what you can expect from a beginners class is to be really working on your strength, you're going to be strong from the inside out and from that strength then we're going to strengthen the rest of your body. We're going to focus on our breathing, we're going to focus on our alignment so that we can improve our postures so we can feel good in our bodies were going to work on our mobility and our flexibility to help us deal with this stresses of life right now so you're going to think about some brassworks and meditation and a little bit of coming back to the core which is exactly what we need in the way the world is today! So if you're interested that please join me it's on zoom it's on Thursdays at 6 we're starting in November so and yeah I really hope to see you on the mats. |
