About Powerlifting

We are Maynooth University's powerlifting club. Our club's primary goal is to create a welcoming and supportive community of powerlifting enthusiasts, irrespective of skill level. Powerlifting is  a strength sport which requires athletes to exert huge amounts of power to lift maximal loads in three movements - Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift.


Whether aiming to win medals, gain experience, or simply to have fun, Maynooth Powerlifting encourages all members to participate in competitions throughout the year, such as the Open Nationals in February, or other inter-varsity competitions held between other Irish Universities. We welcome lifters of any experience ranging from absolute beginners to experienced competitors.


With multiple training sessions held every week, as well as access to workout plans, the Maynooth Powerlifting Club is the perfect place to learn powerlifting and to support you in reaching your lifting goals!
