"MHS are back for the new college year and we are finally back on campus! On Monday we held our AGM and elected our new committee. We had a great evening and are so happy with our new committee! We can't wait to get planning events for everyone and have loads of ideas. Our first event took place on Wednesday on South Campus. World Mental Health Day had taken place on Sunday so we celebrated on Wednesday with a chill and mindful walk around the back of South Campus. It's a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of college and chill out. If anyone is ever looking for it, you can just turn up to the right by the spot where the library cat sleeps and continue up the path which will take you all around the back of Pugin Hall through some lovely forest walks. We had a great turnout at both events and we can't wait to see more of you next week for some more great events!Make sure you send us a message if there's anything you want to ask about or any ideas you have!See you soon!"
"Hi everyone! This Wednesday the 20th we will be also hosting our AGM as well as our Mini Games Night. There are positions available; President, Events Officer, Treasurer and Year Rep. Feel free to come along to JHL2 this Wednesday from 7pm to 9pm. Everyone is more than welcome to attend and run for any of the available positions. Just prepare a few words as to why you feel you should be elected and if you have ideas or how you would help the society through your position!Hope to see you all soon,Jessica. "
"Another busy weekend with our men’s 1st XV away in the All Ireland League in Magherafelt, Derry to play Rainey Old Boys. The lads played superbly against a Rainey side in transition securing a phenomenal 0-39. 2nd year Sean Sexton tore the opposition apart with his pace and evasive running scoring a hatrick of tries! 3rd year loose forward Shane Stokes continues to show he is becoming one of the best players in his position across the league and other strong performances from graduates Geoff Brookes and Conor Lacey. Unfortunately the U23s game V Coolmine at the uni on Friday was cancelled when the players were ready to go as the referee hadn’t appeared! The men’s 4ths and 5ths had resounding victories (v Guinness and Parkmore) with high scores, the highlight being 3rd year Zack O Reilly scoring 5 tries! Our u20 men got their 2021/22 campaign up and running with a disjointed performance but did emerge with a bonus point win 27-22 over Seapoint. Great to see lots of students make their first starts and appearances. There were no fixtures for our women’s squad or our men’s 2nds. "
"The weekend of 8/9/10 October was scheduled to be our first week of fielding 8 adult rugby teams:men’s 1st XV were playing All Ireland League at home versus University Limerick Bohemians on Saturday and had a superb victory 38-13 with some excellent performances from 2nd Year David Dooley, recent graduate Connor O Brien and 4th year Conor Neville bagging his first try getting on the end of 2nd year Sean Sexton’s line break. Our women’s 1st XV had another excellent win away at Edenderry on Friday night 5-25 making it 2/2 in division 1 of Leinster. The back line continues to excite with plenty of pace from outside backs and 2nd years Emer O Brien and Lauren Patterson. Men’s 2nds had a strong win over Lansdowne 38-10 at the university pitch on Saturday 2nd with PostGrads Lee Franzoni, Adam Tallon and 3rd year Brian Reidy excelling in the pack. Men’s U23s lost away Friday night to an experienced Lansdowne outfit at the aviva 28-21. 1st years Ben Fleming and Josh Akanji had superb displays as did Sligo twins Will (2nd year) and Janes Whelan (1st year). Our men’s 4th team had a narrow win at home to Clondalkin on Saturday with great impact from 1st years Richard Dada, Ronan Lambe and 2nd year Geroid Forrest at hooker. Unfortunately our u20s men, men’s 5ths and women’s 2nd XVs all received wins via concession from Greystones, Stillorgan and CYM respectively. "
"Hey Everyone,For our weekly event this Wednesday we are hosting our own Mini Olympics Game Night! We hope to see you all there! "
"Hey everyone, hope you're all settling into Maynooth life. We're going to be hosting our first Trad Soc meeting on the 19th of October (this Tuesday) in Riverstown Hall from 9pm-10pm. We'll be electing a First Year Rep and going over a few other things like introducing the committee, and it's advised that as many people attend (there'll be free pizza). The reason for the lateness in the meeting is that the Trad Ensemble only finishes practicing then, and that we have received permission from Brady's staff to host the weekly session a week earlier, starting this Tuesday the 19th of October instead of the 26th! If you are able to attend, we highly recommend going to the session as it's a great way to meet other musicians (feel free to bring your instrument to the AGM and head up to the session after). The sessions will always commence at the same time each week at around 9.30pm starting time. Also, please follow the Trad Society on Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/mutradsoc/) as we are more active on there and if you have any questions please feel free to DM us.See you Tuesday!Oisin"

Well done to the squad and coaches!Unfortunately our men's u20 lost narrowly in a stop-start contest to St Mary's 10-12 in the playoff for premier 1. Gearoid Quinn (2nd year) scored a great try off a strong maul set with Leinster star David Dooley adding 5 points with the boot. We just didn't click on the day but this strong group will be back! "At the beginning of August the clubs Uproar and Social Sports Dublin hosted an intermediate level 4's tournament in Dublin. We decided to send a team of players all with less than 2 years experience to play. Over the course of the day we played several games winning all comfortably thanks to some hard work and quick synergy between players. We hit the ground running from the very first game making quick passes with solid execution and very few errors. We were able to quickly shutdown opposition with some very impressive defense too.In the final game we played against Jabba the Huck a brilliant group of beginners how had some very strong throws and a lot of pace. They came out very strong using the wind to their advantage scoring off of a few deep throws. Only 5 minutes into the game we fell 3-0 to Jabba however we did not lose hope. After reconvening and making a plan we put our heads down and played some brilliant ultimate. By half time we managed to pull back to a 3-2 score. With halftime came switching sides and now we had the wind on our side and we capitalized finishing the game with a score of 8-5 claiming victory ultimately winning us the tournament. We are very proud of our Maynooth Players and very thankful to our 2 pickup players Conor and Ciaran. The Final can be watch here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CsLOcnf2j9I&list=LL&index=8&t=341sTeam:Matthew Morrow (C)Eric KilduffCalum WalshJordan RossiterAaron ReillyChris MaloneyConor Kostik (pickup)Ciaran Martin (pickup)"

I'm thrilled to be a part of the society alongside the amazing committee, and welcome everybody to join; we have a ton of events and surprises planned for the year!Covid hit us all hard and it left the DJ Soc in a place where it was impossible to do anything, so this year, we plan to make up for lost time and give the students and members an unforgettable year with the society! On Wednesday at 1pm to 5pm, we will have a DJ Soc stand outside John Hume as part of the clubs and socs meet & greet which has went ahead for the past week. "Hey everyone! Welcome to all new and returning members :-) I am just in the midst of setting everything up but am hoping to have a meeting to decide new committee members, before sessions start up again (from October 22nd on) as that is our main activity. As trad music is best enjoyed when in each others company, it'd be best to wait until we are able to play in the same room together before we organise any sessions. If you know anyone that'd be interested in joining, please feel free to let them know about the trad soc! Make sure that your medical certs are up to date, and that you have paid the 2 euro, as I cannot accept you into the society until you do so. I'm currently getting around to gaining ownership of the social media channels, but I'm aiming for everything to be up and running around the middle of October, just in time for us to return to Bradys. Thanks all, and if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me :D-Oisin"
