About Go Karting Club
Maynooth University Go Karting Club
Welcome to the Maynooth University Go Karting Club — a student-led motorsport community built for anyone who has a passion for racing, competition, adrenaline, cars, or simply wants to try something completely different during their time at Maynooth University.
Whether you have been karting for years or have never sat in a kart before, the club is open to students of all experience levels. You do not need a racing licence, previous motorsport experience, technical knowledge, or even your own equipment to get involved. All you need is an interest in getting behind the wheel and being part of a community that shares the same enthusiasm.
The club aims to bring students together through competitive karting, social events, organised race days, motorsport activities and opportunities to develop as drivers. From casual sessions where students can experience karting for the first time, to more competitive events for those looking to test themselves against other drivers, there will be opportunities for everyone to find their place.
For those who want to take competition further, the club will also provide opportunities to participate in organised championships, inter-university events and other forms of competitive karting. We want to create an environment where students can improve their driving, learn about race-craft and experience the excitement of competing on track while representing Maynooth University.
But the club is about more than simply racing.
Motorsport is a community, and the Maynooth University Go Karting Club aims to build exactly that. Whether you're interested in driving, engineering, photography, videography, race strategy, event organisation, team management or simply following the action, there is a place for you within the club. We want to bring together students from different courses, backgrounds and years of study and give them something exciting to share outside the classroom.
Throughout the academic year, the club will look to organise karting sessions, social gatherings, competitions, viewing events and other motorsport-related activities. These events will give members the opportunity to meet new people, make friends and create memories both on and off the track.
Our goal is to establish a club that becomes a permanent part of the Maynooth University sporting and social community — one that students can join as beginners and potentially leave as experienced competitors, organisers or lifelong motorsport enthusiasts.
Most importantly, this is a club built by students, for students.
Whether you're chasing your first podium, trying to set your first fastest lap, looking for a new hobby, or simply curious about what karting is all about, the grid is open to you.
Strap in. Find your racing line. Represent Maynooth.
🏁 Lights out — let's race.
