"We will be teaching various scouting skills, such as Pioneering (knotwork), Orienteering (Mapwork), Camping skills (Site Setup, Maintenance and Safety), and Fire Skills (Fire lighting and safety) Fire skills will be weather dependent and outdoors. It will be done on one of three days, if weather permits. Pioneering: We will teach how to construct basic structures such as small tripods using rope and pioneering spars. Orienteering: We will teach how to identify landmarks on a map, use a compass, read distance and other basic map skills. Camp Skills: We will teach rules about site safety, guidelines for site layout and maintenance, familiarise people with camping equipment, and weather permitting may pitch and take down a tent outdoors, or a smaller tent indoors. "

"The event will comprise the sale of copies of a print anthology, compiling material we have published online at silverhandjournal.com. Copies will cost three euro each. It will be largely a social event, with a collaborative literary quiz co-hosted by Maynooth's Classics, Drama, History and Philosophy societies in the last hour and a half, with each society hosting a round. When the event concludes, we will close the doors and rearrange the venue as found. We will also be inviting a selection of Maynooth University students, alumni and staff via email."
