This year, we will be holding our AGM (Annual General Meeting) at 6:30pm in John Hume Tutorial Room 4 (upstairs in the John Hume Building).

At the AGM, we will be looking to elect committee members for this academic year. The available committee positions are listed below:

Have you ever wondered how easy or hard it is to design your own anime protagonist? Well this is your opportunity to find out!

In teams or alone, you will have to pick out random prompts to give you an idea of the race, gender and age, alignment and genre of your character. It's your responsibility then to come up with a name, design, backstory and theme song . You will be asked to present your character to the judge panel made up of 2 committee members from each society.

Prizes will be won by the most lovable (or hateable) characters so try your best, and most importantly, just have fun!

This week, we will be screening Tokyo Godfather. A beautiful story about redemption and hope as heroes search for a lost child's mother. As usual a premium anime from the connoisseurs at the Anime and Sci-fi Society. This one will go straight to your heart. Watch as people help a poor lost child locate their mother and perhaps find themselves of the way. 

Having the chats over tea, coffee, or what ever else with a selection of comics, graphic novels and manga. Perhaps an episode of something in the background, who knows. Just a chill hangout with the other connoisseurs of animation. 

This is a chill event where you can bring your lunch and avail of our free tea and coffee (so don't forget your reusable mugs). We have some manga and comic books that you can browse aswell.

Our Weekly commuter event in the Student's Union again on Thursday. To spice it up a little, we will be dubbing over selection of manga. Change an unsatisfactory ending, "fix" a character, make it as weird and wacky as you please! Tea and coffee will be there as well, so don't forget your reusable cups either!

Our Wednesday night meeting this week will be Werewolf. There's something strange a-foot and it's the job of the villagers find out who's who. You find the werewolf and you protect the village. Just be sure not to condemn the innocent or fall victim yourself.

A chance to have a chat and relax for a short time and it's somewhere you can go to eat your lunch :D

You can pop in for any length of time be it a 20min chat or 2hr break between lectures it's up to you :)

This coming Tuesday will be our third library event for commuters to continue showing their undying loyalty to great literature and most importantly Omega. Due to unforseen circumstances this assembly will take place in Meeting Room 1 rather than 3/4 but not to worry, the heretics responsible will be punished. Brought to you by the twin guardians of Omega's sacred tomes.

Omega are heading on our first cinema trip of the year. We'll be heading out to Naas to watch a preview screening of Marvel's Doctor Strange. The total cost for the trip is €10, which includes your cinema ticket, return bus journey and a medium combo.

If you are not a member, you will need to sign up before the trip. Sign ups for both Omega Society and the Doctor Strange trip will be taken at our Monday evening event and our Tuesday Commuter event.

For those looking to see what Omega has to offer on the literary front, the first commuter event is being held Tuesday 25th October in the SU meeting room 3/4 from 2 till 4. Basically we want to know what you enjoy reading when it isn't for assignments. This event is brought to you by the twin guardians of Omega's sacred tomes.

On Wednesday we are doing a horritically bad erotic fanfiction reading. It's like walking in on your parents.... if your parents were Gandalf and Sailor Moon. Come along the if you want to laugh until you cry, or just be scarred for life.
