Aikido FAQs
I am not very fit. Is this a problem?
No it is not a problem. We cater for people of all shapes of sizes. Aikido is very good for getting fit and will develop a strong core.
Are there competitions in Aikido?
No. We do not have competitions.
What should I wear?
You need something loose that you can move in. Tracksuit is ideal.
Do I need to have done Aikido before?
No. We cater for beginners at all times.

Location: PE Hall, Sports Centre

Beginners Aikido Class.

We start with some warm up exercises and then move onto some movement drills and falling drills.

Following this we will start on some basic techniques.

All are welcome!

Location: Small Hall of the Sports Centre

This will be a basic weapons class as we do not have access to the mats. Weapons will be provided.

In this class basic handling skills will be taught for both bokken (wooden sword) and jo (staff).
