As you are probably aware we are holding Purple Training once again this year. This is an event that we hold every year. If you dont know what purple training is well here is a quick description,

Purple Training is a conference that Maynooth Pride Society has been organising every year for several years. Purple Training seeks to bring together Trans, non-binary, gender-queer people and ally's for a series of talks and discussions all about gender. The conference is open to all LGBTq+ Societies and their members!

The lineup for this year includes talks and workshops on trans healthcare in Ireland today, a panel discussion on housing from a queer perspective, and much much more.

IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ATTENDING PURPLE TRAINING 2024, TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE LINK IN THE EMAIL THAT WE HAVE SENT.

TICKETS are €5 for the weekend or €25 if you need accommodation.

ACCOMMODATION will be available in the Maynooth South Campus hotel in shared bedrooms (2 per room). The supply is however limited and unfortunately won't be available for everyone.

“Purple Training” is an event Maynooth Pride Society run annually for other college students throughout the country to attend. It is an informative weekend on trans and nonbinary topics, such as wellbeing, information around transitioning and general awareness, and other topics that impact the trans community.

This years Purple Training will take place on Maynooth University's campus from the 14th of April to the 16th, and will feature speakers from Small Trans Library, TENI (Transgender Equality Network Ireland), and CATU (Community Action Tenants Union) and more!

Our AGM is taking place on Friday the 8th of October at 8pm via Microsoft Teams. This is a great opportunity to make friends and vote on the new committee members. Why not even put yourself forward to be on the committee.

Hey all, 

Purple Training is a weekend training. This is the second biggest LGBTQ+ student conference in Europe. This weekend touches on everything related to the LGBTQ+ community and Allies. We will have talks, panels, workshops and entertainment throughout the weekend. This event is open to students across Ireland. 

We are limited to the number of spaces we have for each college to attend due to trying to make the event as interactive and engaging as possible. If you sign up you might not be guaranteed a space, this does not mean you shouldn't try. It is a free event so it would be a shame to miss out! 

This panel takes a look at the challenges LGBTQ+ folk face across the globe. This panel will give the perspectives of organizations and how they hope to improve the standard of living and the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. We will also take a look at the importance of Pride. Come watch Paris is Burning this Friday with Pride and Anthropology.

You are all invited Pride Soc's first collab of the year; Movie Night with Anthropology Society. We will be watching the 1990 film Paris is Burning. Afterwards we will be chatting about the film and the LGBT culture that it portrays.

We will be having the event on Teams from 7:30pm until around 9:30pm so make sure to join.

This event is our weekly hangout for our members and for non-members to come, hang out and have a chat about their week or just a simple get together to get to know each other ?

On Tuesday we have our AGM in JH L3! We are going to be electing our new committee for 2019/2020 ????

All roles are up for grabs as we form our new committee so make sure you come along if you want to run for a position or even just to support your friends running and to hangout with your friends in pride !

The Pro of design is the person in charge of making our wonderful event posters every week !

Pink training is an inter-varsity lgbt+ conference weekend run by the USI.

Taking Place in Galway this year, Pink Training holds workshops and safe spaces and social events over the weekend.
