This will be at Rye Events Space at the Clubs and Societies space from 12pm-1pm!

Hey Guys! 

We have an exciting meet up ahead of the national Daffodil Day in aid of the Irish Cancer Society - we will be holding a relaxing Tea/Coffee morning with our lovely friends at Tea Society! This will be held from 11am - 12pm in the Clubs and Societies Event space at Rye on Tuesday 19th March 

Here we will be having a good catch up with you guys and following this we will be holding our EGM at 12pm so stick around and have some refreshments for the taking too!

Relay for Life is the biggest fundraising event over twenty-four hours. It’s an event which honours current and former cancer patients, including their families and friends. It will take place over a 24-hour period from 4pm 15th February until 4pm on 16th February. This event will comprise of teams who will sign up via our Relay For Life Website and enter in teams. At least one person from each team must remain on the track to represent the ongoing fight that cancer patients battle with every day. Maynooth students in Clubs and Societies all come together and help fill each hour with different activities, such as Circus who are demonstrating some yoga/ stretching and Access who will be waxing hair in honour of shave or dye.

Hello everyone! We are BACK with our Battle of the Bands event and we are collaborating with Mental Health Society. The proceeds go to both Marie Keating Foundation and SpunOut! Make sure to come by to see the talented bands, Yurmah and Pants on Fire and Openers, Rachel and Mikael. Hope to see you all there!

Join us in a little random act of kindness with our wintergrams. Buy a coffee, tea, hot chocolate or a doughnut for yourself. All proceeds will be donated to Breakdown Cancer Research! Hope to see you all there! 

Hello Everyone, We're back for our annual event Shave, Dye or Lookin' fine which is taking place in the SU Venue from 5pm-7pm on the 23rd of November. Make sure to sign up to be assured a slot for yourself. All funds raised are being donated to the Irish Cancer Society. The fee is 2 euro which can be paid online or at the door. We are so so excited to bring you this years Turn Maynooth Pink - Party!!

Each October of every year, we raise much needed funds for the Irish Cancer Society along with raising awareness for Breast Cancer Awareness Month <3 This year we are going big with a very pink Barbie style Party on Thursday October 26th after our Big Pink Breakfast!

This will be held in Rye Clubs and Socs Space located in Rye hall behind the John Hume Building from 10am all day so pop over for some snacks, music and lots of fun!

There's only one rule - GO PINK! In support of Breast Cancer Awareness, we are looking for people to wear as much pink as possible on Thursday 26th October! If you send in a pic of your best dressed Barbie or Ken to us with the hashtag #turnmaynoothpink23 you can be in with a chance to win some pretty cool prizes!

We are very excited to announce our biggest event of the year, Relay for Life!

This is a 24 hour charity event taking place from 4pm February 7th to 4pm  February 8th in the Main Sports Hall, Phoenix Building in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. Teams of 3-20 people can run, walk (or crawl!) the track representing the ongoing fight cancer patients and their families face every day. There will be plenty of entertainment, food, games and activities ongoing for each hour of the 24 hour event (held by some amazing clubs and societies!). This will be the first Relay for Life the society has held since 2019!

Heyyy!!! We are VERY excited to announce our very first Shave, Dye Or Lookin' Fine event! In our MSU Venue, November 22nd from 4-6pm!

By shaving, dying or getting creative with your hair, you are showing your support to those around the country who are going through cancer treatments which often result in hair loss. See you then!!

You can dress up in PJ's or a crazy costume or "have a bad hair day" and get creative with your funky hairstyles!  (There will be some awesome prizes to be won!) There will be a €2 participation fee that can be paid online or in person :))

The Maynooth Cancer Society are holding a table quiz next Thursday 14th November. This will take place in The Venue, in the Maynooth Student's Union(SU) at 7.30pm. There is no fee for taking part, all we ask is that you make a donation on the night. All donations go directly to the Irish Cancer Society. No donation is too small for such a great cause. So get your thinking caps on and join us next Thursday 14th November at 7.30 in The Venue!

MU Cancer Society's Annual Relay for Life event is back on the 10th-11th April! This is a 24 hour fundraising event in aid of the Irish Cancer Society to celebrate those who have survived cancer, remember those who have passed away and fight back for those who are currently battling cancer. A number of teams take part in this event with at least one member of each team walking on a symbolic designated track at all times during the 24 hours. There will be a variety of entertainment, food, music and much more taking place throughout the 24 hours and it is sure to be a day of great craic! If any clubs or socs would like to get involved please get in touch with MU Cancer Soc as soon as you can! Hope to see you there :)

Cancer Soc are holding an information day in the library regarding Relay for Life.

As you all know this is our biggest event of the year and it involves a 24 hour walk/run/crawl in aid of the Irish Cancer Society. This year it is being held on the 10/11th of April. Team registration forms will be given out at the stand tomorrow. Aswell as candle bags being sold, which will be lit during the Candle of Hope ceremony on the night of the Relay. 

The aim of Relay is that it symbolises the struggle of someone dealing with cancer. Ideally, you and your group will take it in turns to go around the track, an hour or two at a time. This is so atleast one member of your team is present at all times. Every hour there will be a different event aswell as some spot prizes to be won. It really is a great event and i encourage you all to come and join. 

More information will be given at the stand tomorrow. 

We are collabing with Strength and Fitness as part of our last fundraiser for Movember. This strength and fitness class will consist of a fun workout/ mini sports day. €2 to take part and you can donate more if you wish, its all donated towards the movember charity. The class is from 6-7pm in the small sports hall. Hope to see you there. 

We are holding a quiz to raise money in aid of Movember. 

This quiz will be held in the Venue on Monday 20th November starting at 7pm. There will be nuemorous rounds including Friends, Father Ted, General Knowledge, Netflix and Chill, Music Mashup, and of course guess the moustache. Prizes on the night and all funds raised go towards Movember.

Cancer Soc are collabing with Yoga to raise funds for Movember. 

Theres no doubt that everyone is feeling the pressure with mid terms and assignments due soon, so why not come on down to PE Classroon on Wednesday the 15th and say goodbye to all those worries with yoga. Refreshments also provided aftwewards. 

All proceeds raised go towards Movember, which is for prostate and testicular cancer aswell as mens mental health.

Cancer Soc are rescheduling their cake sale to Wednesday the 18th October. It takes place in the Arts Block from 10am to 3pm. There will be a good selection of home made baked goods aswell as other delicious snacks. Don't forget to pop by and purchase some of our tasty treats! Cancer Soc's AGM will be on the 10th October at 6pm in JH7. We will be introducing the committee, discussing the societies plans for the year such as events, fundraisers etc, There is still an opportunity to get involved with the society if you want to join and there are also positions available such as first year rep and recruitment officer. Well boys and girls we are hosting our annual Relay for life.  Relay for life is our biggest and most popular event which we hold every year and if you take part this year you will understand why :)  Relay for life is an event which is based around fundraising and teamwork to keep a team member or a few on the track at all times, similar to a tag team event which different intervals and mini surprises along the way to keep all those sleep heads wide awake.  One aspect of the relay is the Candle of Hope ceremony where people have the opportunity to buy a candle bag and write a personal message for someone who they know who has suffered from this horrible disease. It is a beautiful opportunity for all individuals to come together and know that they are not alone in struggling and fighting against this disease, finding comfort in seeing first hand that others go through this too and they are not alone. You can register for the relay and you can buy a candle bag from us on the 22nd of February and the 1st of March in the library from some of our committee members! The Relay itself will take place on the 27th of March outside the John Hume building and really the bigger your team the better the experience! Everyone is welcome and if you wish to register a team (as big or little as you wish) just message the cancer soc page and we will register you for the event. Hope to see you all there and congratulations if you made it to the end of this post.

From 10 until 4 on Tuesday, we will have a stand in the Arts Block selling raffle tickets and bakes goods for the Irish Cancer Society! If you would like to win 2 Picture This tickets to their sold out show in November, be sure to buy a few raffle tickets!

Then from 4-6 in Meeting Rooms 3+4 we will be collaborating with MHS in Creative Coffee for a Cause! There will be information leaflets, tea, coffee, snacks and maybe some leftover baked goods to keep your energy up for some serious colouring in <3
