Hi everyone,
*Commuter Event*
This is the LegalTech Society’s second guest speaker for 2021! We are excited to have the Criminology Society join us in this collaboration!
We are delighted to have Paul Cleary, Detective Chief Superintendent of the Garda National Cyber Crime Bureau, in to give a detailed talk about the work the GNCCB does. Established in 1991, the GNCCB was previously a section of the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau and was known as the Cyber Crime Investigation Unit. As a result of the increasing cybercrime worldwide, An Garda Síochána was tasked with greatly increasing its capacity and capability in the area of cybercrime. Since June 2020, the GNCCB has been led by Detective Chief Superintendent Paul Cleary who has been entrusted with its expansion.
This will be a great event to see how the area of criminal justice sector and technological sphere combine in the law enforcement sector! We hope that all that are available can attend! We look forward to seeing you.
Just as a reminder, we would like to say that attendees should not share vehicles unless they are apart of same family group (includes those in shared accommodation). We advise attendees to proceed in line with HSE advice if they are in a high- or very high-risk category.
Best Wishes,
Martin.

Hello everyone!
I invite all members to attend our first AGM!
This will be on the 13th of October and at 6:15. At the AGM, we will be introducing the ourselves to all of you and going over the events we have planned for this year. It is also a time to ask us any questions you have about the society and get to know our faces! It will be nice to meet those who can attend in person. There is a maximum number of 50 people allowed at the AGM, so make sure to register in time. For anyone unable to attend, we hope to livestream the event.
We are seeking to have a representative from each year of undergraduate studies to be a link with this society and the various year groups. We are also seeking a single post-graduate representative as well. If anyone is interested in these roles, please attend the AGM to be able to make your case on why should receive this role!
Finally, we are going to announce the winner of our MU Hoodie Raffle at the AGM. Remember to enter by following our instagram page and following the steps laid out in the relevant post! Best of luck to those who entered.
We would also like to say that attendees should not share vehicles unless they are apart of same family group (includes those in shared accommodation). We advise attendees to proceed in line with HSE advice if they are in a high- or very high-risk category.
I look forward to seeing all of you!
Best Wishes,
Martin.
