This Thursday we will be hosting an Open Mic Night as our final event before the Christmas break, kicking off at 7:30pm, in O’Neill’s Bar on Main Street. 

This weeks Commuter Workshop will be Characterisation hosted by our own Taylor Dench. This workshop will take place on Thursday from 2-3pm in the Small Sports Hall, Phoenix Building. 

This Wednesday we will begin rehearsals for our full scale production of The Rocky Horror Show in Riverstown Hall from 6pm. 

This week’s workshop will take place on Tuesday 17th December from 6-7pm in Riverstown Hall. This workshop will be based around Vocal Harmonies and be hosted by the fabulous Louise Gilmore. 

Curtains Up is a 1920’s concert-style production in aid of MDI and will take to the SU Venue stage this Thursday - doors open at 7pm and the show will begin at 7:30pm. This promises to be a fabulous night for an even better cause. 

This week’s Commuter Workshop will be a Lyrical Dance Workshop with Emily Little from 2-3pm on Thursday. 

Next Wednesday will be the final rehearsal for Curtains Up - a concert-style production in aid of MDI. 

This week’s Wednesday Workshop will be a Wicked Dance Workshop with Claire O’Toole from 6-7pm in Riverstown Hall. 

This Tuesday, in collaboration with Drama Soc, DJ Soc and the MSU, we will be partaking in a lip sync battle in the SU Venue.

Ahead of Inters auditions this week, we are hosting an Inters Info Hour where people can ask the production any questions they may have about Inters and auditions 

This week’s Commuter Workshop is ‘Dance’ with Oisín Reynolds. Oisín is the Director/Choreographer of ‘& Juliet’ as part of the Mini Musical Festival 2024, and a super talented dancer, so be sure to call in and get dancing!

Shortly after Lysander’s workshop, we are hosting a Quiz Night, followed by an Open Mic this Wednesday, 6th November, in O’Neill’s Bar, Main Street.

This week’s Wednesday Workshop is ‘Prop Making’ with our own Productions Liaison Lysander Elamin. During this workshop Lysander will be making props for Minis, so this is a great workshop to attend if you’re involved with Minis this year!

We have our Minis Launch Night this Monday, 4th November, in the SU Venue. Doors open at 8pm, and the show will get started at 8:30pm. There will be an entry fee of 5 euro on the door. This promises to be a fabulous night, with sneak peaks from each show and also pizza provided! Can’t wait to see you all there!

This week’s Commuter Workshop is ‘Ensemble Singing’ with Ali Herbert who directed and musically directed last year’s Mini production of ‘Kinky Boots’. 

At our AGM we will be electing our First Year Rep, Treasurer and Inters Rep/Vice Chairperson/ Vice Treasurer. Our four shows for the Mini Musical Festival 2024 will be announced, along with another special event announcement. Free pizza and wine will be provided on the night!

This week’s Wednesday Workshop is ‘Vocal Technique’ hosted by Anna Bergin. Anna played ‘Grizabella’ in our 2024 full-scale production of ‘Cats’ and ‘The Witch’ in our 2023 full-scale production of ‘Into the Woods’, so she is no stranger to the society. Mini Musical rehearsals are back this week for each cast and with that in mind on Wednesday we are hosting a ‘Mini Musical Festival Launch Night’ in the Students Union Venue at 7pm.

This promises to be such a fun night with sneak previews of each show! 

We cannot wait to see you all there to support each cast and production team!

Our Tech & Construction Officer and soon to be Beetlejuice choreographer, Joe Keane, will be hosting a dance workshop on Wednesday evening!

It will be in Top Loftus from 6-7pm. This is an accredited workshop.

Brandon Byrne, choreographer and director for ‘Six’ the Musical, will be hosting a commuter dance workshop on Wednesday from 1-2pm in the Small sports hall.

SUPER SPOOKY OPEN MIC NIGHT??

Start preparing your Halloween tunes folks as we are hosting a Spooky Open Mic Night this Wednesday.

This will be in O’Neills on the high street at 7pm! You better be there or the MUMS committee will be tempted to put a spell on you?

To continue our spooky theme for the week, MUMS Alum @loredana.marginean will be hosting a master class in the art of prop making on Wednesday.

The workshop will be in Top Loftus from 6-7pm. This is an accredited workshop!

KINKY BOOTS DANCE WORKSHOP?

Kinky Boots will be one of this years Mini Musicals. As a sneak preview of what’s to come, Choreographer @claire_o_toole will be hosting a commuter dance workshop to one of the routines from the show.

The workshop will be from 11-12pm, Tuesday in the Small Sports Hall, Phoenix.

Due to popular demand, we are having another Open Mic night this Wednesday in O'Neills from 7pm. This is a brilliant opportunity to socialise with and get to know other members now that the dust has settled following the madness of the first 3 weeks. So make sure to come down after the workshop for a night of fun!! (Keep an eye on our socials for the sign-up form)

Our accredited workshop this week will be a dance workshop hosted by none other than MUMS alumni, Eimear Molloy. Along with being a phenomenal dancer, Eimear also led last years Intervarsities performance of 'Legally Blonde' in the role of Elle Woods. Be sure to pop down to Top Loftus this Wednesday from 6-7pm for some electric choreography!!

Last week were thrilled to announce that our Annual Full-scale Production will be Cats.

To celebrate we are screening the 1998 version of the award winning musical in JH1 at 7pm on Thursday. Bring popcorn and make sure to wear your comfiest clothes!?

We will have our AGM this Thursday in John Hume Lecture Theatre 1starting at 6:30pm. Our AGM is one of the most important events of the year as we will be electing our First Year Rep as well as announcing what our 4 Mini Musical Shows will be this year. We will also have free pizza and wine at the event so if that's not reason enough to come then I don't know what is!!

On Thursday we will have our first commuter workshop of the year led by our very own Oisín Reynolds in the Small Sports Hall in the Phoenix Building from 1-2pm. Oisín was the choreographer of Newsies in our Mini Musicals Festival last year so you make sure to come for some electric choreography! (Please note this workshop is NOT accredited for music students).
