About Rock Climbing

Welcome to the Maynooth University Rock Climbing Club (MURCC), affectionately known as The Mountain Goats. We are a community of climbers dedicated to the sport of bouldering, a form of rock climbing that focuses on short, challenging routes without the use of ropes or harnesses. Our club is open to climbers of all skill levels, from beginners looking to learn the basics to experienced climbers seeking new challenges and connections within the climbing community.

?MURCC climb weekly at Gravity Climbing Gym. You will need to visit their website https://www.gravityclimbing.ie/ to find current prices and booking information.

If you are a beginner and have never been to Gravity Climbing Gym you will need to book an induction through their website before you are permitted to climb.

Whether you're a seasoned climber or a complete beginner, we welcome you to join us and become a part of the MURCC community. Let's climb together and push our limits to new heights!

At MURCC, we believe that climbing is not only a physical challenge but also a mental one. Bouldering requires concentration, problem-solving, and perseverance, and we aim to cultivate these qualities in all of our members. We believe that climbing is a powerful tool for personal growth and development, and we are committed to helping our members reach their full potential on and off the wall.

As a club, our mission is to provide a supportive and inclusive environment for climbers to pursue their passion and develop their skills. We offer regular training sessions and workshops to help members improve their technique and build strength, as well as bouldering trips to some of the best climbing destinations in Ireland.

In addition to our focus on climbing, we also value the importance of community and social connection. We host regular social events and gatherings to foster a sense of camaraderie and support among our members.
