This weekend we had a team go down to Cork to play in an Open IV tournament against other colleges. Unfortunately the tournament was cancelled last minute but we were still able to play some games against the other colleges that had already travelled down. Despite the disappointment of the cancelled event we had a great weekend. We are looking forward to the rescheduled event.

Hi all,
The Trinity tea tournament was very much fun it was a two day tournament and Maynooth Ultimate were able to send two teams (Long Island tea) and (Licorice).
Both teams did very well and it was great for all the new players to get a sensation of what a frisbee match looks like. The two teams got to play against each other which was the most important match of the day.
The tournament was on the 12th and 13th of November it was very well organised and great to have it early in the academic year to meet other players in other teams.
We had a bus leave from MU to Santry for both days which made it very easy to all the players to get to the place.
Well done to all those who participated in the tournament and we are looking forward to all upcoming events.

At the beginning of August the clubs Uproar and Social Sports Dublin hosted an intermediate level 4's tournament in Dublin. We decided to send a team of players all with less than 2 years experience to play.
Over the course of the day we played several games winning all comfortably thanks to some hard work and quick synergy between players. We hit the ground running from the very first game making quick passes with solid execution and very few errors. We were able to quickly shutdown opposition with some very impressive defense too.
In the final game we played against Jabba the Huck a brilliant group of beginners how had some very strong throws and a lot of pace. They came out very strong using the wind to their advantage scoring off of a few deep throws. Only 5 minutes into the game we fell 3-0 to Jabba however we did not lose hope. After reconvening and making a plan we put our heads down and played some brilliant ultimate. By half time we managed to pull back to a 3-2 score. With halftime came switching sides and now we had the wind on our side and we capitalized finishing the game with a score of 8-5 claiming victory ultimately winning us the tournament.
We are very proud of our Maynooth Players and very thankful to our 2 pickup players Conor and Ciaran.

Over the weekend we sent our mixed team to outdoor Intervarsities. Unfortunately, due to the unideal weather conditions, the tournament was postponed after just 2 games.
Regardless of the terrible conditions we had lots of fun and got a chance to start the outdoor season well. Our first game was against UL who had a very strong team and their experience showed. Unfortunately, we lost to UL but we didn't let that break our spirit and we moved on to our next game against UCC 2.
In our second game, we found our stride and managed to beat UCC 2 comfortably. Both our old and new beginners showed their skills and we gained loads of experience together as a team.
