Hopes and Dreams will SAVE the world!
As the academic year draws to a close, we have a few last events to finish off. Alongside that, some words from the 25/26 committee to send us off into the sunset.
? A word from the president ?
Hey everyone,
When I was elected President this time last year, I had a bit of an idea for what I wanted to do and where I wanted the society to be by now. Needless to say, these things never go as you expect.
At the start of the year, I would have been happy to see 350 members. Instead we blew right past that and hit over 400, our highest membership ever.
But what surprised me most was our huge success in the Club's and Societies awards. We won the Civic and Charity award, got three second places in Best Poster for the Dominicon poster, our absolutely wonderful First Year Representative Ellen got second place in Best First Year, and my constant rock Kayla, VP/Secretary, got second place in Best Society Person. In addition, our stellar treasurer Aishling won a special prize from the Mary's for the Friendly Faces.
It is no understatement that this year has been our most successful ever. That success is not just for us on the Committee, but for all of you as well. Without all 407 of you, we wouldn't be where we are now.
Thank you,
Signing off for the last time as President,
Your GOAT,
Finbarr James Maguire
