Author OLIVIA GRACE MC NALLY (Vice President)

We are delighted to announce the launch of our first Maynooth Women in Law Publication. We aim for this report to be an intersectional feminist legal publication dedicated to raising awareness about some of the most pressing gendered legal issues nation and worldwide.

We are accepting submissions from all Maynooth University students, including undergraduate and postgraduate students.

We are looking for short 1,500-2,500 word essays. There are no strict stylistic requirements so long as your submission is focused on an intersectional feminist issue. As this is a legal publication, we require submissions to be in the OSCOLA referencing style.

Below we have some prompts to get you thinking, but these are mainly just for inspiration. Please feel free to submit pieces that do not relate to these prompts in particular.

Potential prompts to consider/get you thinking for your submission:

  •  Coercive Control
  • Domestic Violence
  • Arranged Marriages
  • Women in conflict
  • Reproductive Rights

All submissions are DUE on or before the 20TH OF FEBRUARY 2025 AT 11:59PM. If you have any questions, please email us at womeninlaw@mulife.ie

Thank you very much, we look forward to reviewing your submissions!
