"Firstly, I'd like to thank every single one of you who decided to join and help our cause. If it wasn't for all of you, our Society wouldn't be established and I wouldn't be typing it. You all mean the world to me, dyakuiu (thank you) for being here ??Secondly, to the awards!! ? I'd like to congratulate Vasyl, our PRO, and President of History Society, for taking second place at Best Society First Year ?? That's not it! Again, I'd like to highlight once again that without each one of you, this society wouldn't be in place... So, the first place for Best Society First Year goes to me, President of Ukrainian Society, and everyone here who supported me along the way ?? Thank you so much ???"

"Last night our committee were off in the Glenroyal Hotel for the annual Clubs and Societies Awards. This is an awards ceremony which takes place every year, celebrating the hard work of Clubs and Societies on Campus. We are so proud of Kate, who has done incredible work this year, and has been an incredible support to committee and members alike! "

"Hi everyone! Just sending a mini weekly email for reading week for some updates. As we have the week off, we don't have any events this week. However.... Tickets for Purple Training have gone live!!! You can buy your tickets on Eventbrite (link: https://www.eventbrite.ie/e/purple-training-2023-tickets-580958882657). There's two ticket prices, €5 for those who don't need accommodation, €25 for those who do. Judging from the interest form responses, we should be able to accommodate everyone who said yes and maybe with accommodation so we're inviting everyone who needs accommodation to buy an accommodation ticket. ACCOMODATION IS SHARED IN TWIN ROOMS (2 BEDS PER ROOM) If that will be a problem for anyone or you're worried about sharing with a stranger, please reach out to a committee member, and we can sort something out. We will have committee members in the accommodation too so we can try and sort you sharing with one of our committee if you like. We've also made a WhatsApp group chat for everyone going, let us know if you want to be added after you buy a ticket :) That's all for now, I hope everyone has a nice week off. Don't push yourselves too hard, take a break, but best of luck with assignments for anyone who has them. We'll see you next week!!!"
"Hey! Welcome back everyone. I hope you all had a great reading week. Here is a paragraph detailing the book from goodreads: In this debut collection of body-horror fairy tales and mid-apocalyptic Catholic cyberpunk, memory and myth, loss and age, these are the tools of storyteller Jarboe, a talent in the field of queer fabulism. Bodily autonomy and transformation, the importance of negative emotions, unhealthy relationships, and bad situations amidst the staggering and urgent question of how build and nurture meaning, love, and safety in a larger world/society that might not be "fixable." Similar to the musiknacht in semester 1 we will have Apfelschorle, this is a chance for everyone to share their favourite German tunes and we hope to see everyone there! Bis später <3"

"The members of St. Catherine’s Society were in attendance on Saturday evening for the double header in Croke Park. The Dublin hurlers and Tipperary began proceedings at 5pm and were followed by the Dublin footballers up against Clare. The Hurling was fantastic from start to finish. Both Dublin and Tipperary fought out a fiercely competitive match. Some of the scoring was top class with Donal Burke from Dublin contributing to 15 points of his sides tally. Tipperary led the Dubs by a singular point at half time. 2 goals in the second half meant that Tipperary came out on top. The football made for compelling viewing as the Dubs and Clare battled it out. A goal for Clare just before half-time left them 3 points up at the break. As the second half went on Clare led by six points. It was a handsome lead, but Dublin came back with 7 unanswered points of their own. Clare will be disappointed with some of the officiating, but it made for enthralling entertainment. It was a fantastic trip to Croke Park arranged by St. Catherine’s Society and one that will live long in the memory. "

"As part of our 15th anniversary celebrations, Maynooth Law Society is proud to launch our campaign 'Fighting Against Period Poverty.' In the coming weeks we will be placing free sanitary products in bathrooms across campus and in popular students locations around Maynooth Town. This initiative is one that is very close to our hearts and something we believe will not only help our members but the greater student population both on campus and across the town as a whole! "
"MU Law Society teamed up with Law School on the 7th of February to discuss Kings Inns and FE1 pathways following undergrad courses. This was a fantastic opportunity to ask questions about the various options available to you and hear about them from a professional!"
" Maynooth African Society started off semester 2 with a bang! We threw a SOLD OUT Valentines day themed event (Love at first chat) and sold nearly 400 tickets! If you're following us on Instagram and Tiktok, you would agree that the turn out was incredible!!!How did we pull this off?1. We used event and project management strategies. We defined our goals very early on, understood the risks involved and implemented strategies accordingly. We created strategic and effective teams with a clear outline of the roles and responsibilities of each team whilst giving them the creative freedom to express themselves through their role(We have so much talent!). We used WBS techniques to breakdown the project into small bites, we communicated regularly, we set realistic expectations and stayed adaptable!2. Strategic social media marketing! Our TikTok promotional videos have just under 20k views and over 6K Likes. Our social media manager Deborah Oriade achieved this by being the creative genius that she is and by leveraging Tiktok trends! Understand your target audience and leverage trends accordingly! (Follow us on Tiktok @muafrosoc1)3. Community! The Black-Irish community in Maynooth University is such a large community (we make up 8% of Maynooth university) however, we stick together! Know your community well and they’ll act as brand ambassadors by sharing about your event through word of mouth! 4. Fundraising! This year our society is self-funded and we decided to see this as an opportunity for growth instead of seeing it as a setback! We fundraised ALOT in first semester so we would be able to put on an event this big!We started the year off with high goals and realistic expectations and we are unlocking our potential by working towards these goals. We have so much planned for the semester ahead but its safe to say wed it off with a BANG! Love at first chat, over and out! "
