Five randomly-selected couples will be blindfolded and given the chance to make a connection, with the aim of finding true love. Throughout the night, there will be interactive activities, special guests, and live music for all to enjoy. It is a night filled with laughter, romance, and entertainment.

We hope you’re enjoying your study week. We are delighted to announce our first official event with the new committee: Maynooth Afrosoc Games Night. There are a lot of fun games planned so come ready to have fun !!

A Charity Sports week h in order to raise funds and awareness of Sickle Cell Anaemia which is a disease that is commonly found amongst people of African decent. 100% of the funds raised will be donated to Sickle Cell Society Ireland.

THIS WEEK  we have an amazing event planned for you guys.

For our girls, this Thursday, we will be hosting a 'Girl's Night' from 5:30pm – 7:30pm in the TSI 110. A night full of games, dilemmas, tips and tricks and so much more.

For our boys, this Thursday, we will be hosting a 'Boy's Night' from 5:30pm – 7:30pm in the TSI 210 for a Switch and FIFA tournament.

Tickets will be sold at the door for 3 euro.

An evening with successful black professionals in different industry giving younger black students insights on their career journey and advice on how to be successful in their relevant fields

An evening with a Black Irish therapist where we will discuss how to take care of our mental health as young black students. It will be an interactive session and an open space for Q&A.

Pop up event to watch the world cup match. The Spain vs Morocco match will be viewed. This event is being held during the day to build community for the black students and to provide a break during such an intense academic season.

DEBATE NIGHT!

Maynooth vs Dundalk - are you ready to back your chat and your university?

We will be hosting our “MUChats” with DKIT, Thursday, the 7th of April at 6pm, In the Arts Theatre Lecture Hall 1 (TH1)

The fee for entry is 3€, cash or revolut!

There will be refreshments, lots of chat, prizes and fun, so come along.

This games night will be taking place on an app called clubhouse. We’ve recently seen that it’s been a very popular app which a lot of maynooth students will have easy access and interaction with the committee members in a more formal way. Just an opportunity to take a break from assignments and chill. So we will be hosting a movie night this week for all our members.

The Africa society are having an online fifa tournament game. It’s a 5 day tournament all they have to do is pay €5 a link will be provided on our Instagram on the day and there’s going to be different rounds each day.

We will be having our first virtual event which will be the AGM on our Instagram page. The AGM is a chance for the fellow new committee members to meet the committee, what committee positions are available. And a more understanding what the Africa society is all about.
