We’re having our EGM in JHL7 this Wednesday 6-8! We’ll be electing our Events Officer, other PRO, and Access Office Liaison, but anyone can come to simply vote! There will be pizza and good vibes so come on down :)

This is our AGM for the upcoming academic year September 2023 - May 2024. Most current committee members will be present to elect a new committee.

We are delighted to announce an event this Friday at 2pm on teams (link in bio). This event is called “how to create a winning internship application” and will be hosted by Aisling Flynn and Máire Buckley of the experiential learning office.

We are so lucky to have Aisling and Maire speak to us and answer any questions we have (anonymously)! If you are planning to apply for internships which are opening around now, this is an event not to be missed!

This event is in Collaboration with the Mental Health Society and will take place on Teams with this link. It will focus on tips and tricks for destressing and finding motivation around exam time. We will play a game of Self care bingo AND have a raffle for attendees to win self care packages.

Hey guys, as part of Dyslexia and Dyspraxia Awareness Week, we're watching Pirates of the Caribbean!

Both Johnny Depp and Keira Knightley are actually dyslexic (and both amazing actors)!

In 2020, Launchpad is moving online. Using a laptop, tablet or your phone from Saturday 26 September 2020, you will attend helpful information sessions about university life, receive advice and guidance from current Maynooth University students, and get to meet other incoming students like you.

Take a look at the Launchpad 2020 Schedule to decide what you might like to attend. We'd love you to come along to as many talks, panels and hangouts as you can. It's such a great way to get to know what to expect at Maynooth and what supports are available. Say hi to our MAP Ambassadors, who are current MU students on every call to support you every step of the way to get settled in and give you their tips for success.

We have a huge week planned out for the return of semester 2! Our inclusion and involvement week is centred about getting right back to the high spirits and good vibes the Access Society is all about!

Tuesday - Creative Coffee with Mental Health society in SU meeting room 3/4 from 10-12 

Wednesday - Reunion Map my Way in Phoenix Boardroom from 12-2 

Thursday - Karaoke with Karaoke Society in the SU venue at 7

Make sure to come and get involved with these amazing societies and start your semester off the best way possible!!!! 

Starting at the SU Venue at 6pm, leaving the SU Venue at 7pm.  We will then be heading into Maynooth town as a group to visit all the pubs in Maynooth who have been pre-notified by committee members of the event.  The Route will be SU Venue, Roost, Duke and Coachman, Brady's, McMahons, then Roost.  A small mini-game/challenge will be played in each pub with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.  If the group is too large, we will split into two groups and go to separate pubs.  

The challenges are pre-decided.  They are Kahoot (wrong answer = you drink), Psyche - drinking game (Take a sip if you get no points and if you have the funniest answer, then sip for each person who picked your answer),  Laugh your drink (Exclusive to this pub), Quizmaster, find a friend (person drinking the same drink as you)

Drinking games are clearly just an option to have a laugh, if a person feels like they've had enough, then they can stop.  if it appears that an individual has drank too much they should be advised by all present to drink water instead instead of alcohol and to take it easy.

We want all pub crawlers to arrive safely in the Roost at the end.  This will be the end of the pub crawl.  

Maynooth Game show will be run in support of Ataxia Foundation Ireland (Charity of the Year), and all proceeds will go towards this charity.  It will be a collab event with Access, Lit n Deb, Games, Criminology, Drama, Rovers, Cuallacht and Polsoc, all of which will be working together to deliver this night of fun.  It is to be held in the SU and promises to be a night of laughs and rivalry.  Join us for some of the best clubs and societies Maynooth has on offer in supporting our charity of the year.  Each society will be running their own round to give you an all round experience on the night.  Entry will be €2 and there will be a raffle held during the event! 

Access Society are hosting the Diversity Ball with Mental Health Society, Games Society, Hogwarts Society, Media Society and Computer Science Society. ??

Tickets are €25 and include a 2 course meal (main course and dessert????)

Doors open at 7:00pm and dinner will be served at 8:00pm. ????

There will also be a photographer on hand to capture some of the night’s memorable moments. ????

We will be watching a movie and telling ghost* stories???? The movie that we will be watching will be decided in the poll on Facebook event.
