MU Aquatics club is a swimming club for students of all abilites from beginners to advanced. We train in the National Aquatic Centre in Blanchardstown, Dublin every Monday and Wednesday from 9-10pm. We travel by bus from outside Loftus Hall, with the bus leaving promptly at 8.15. The bus then leaves the NAC again at 10.15 arriving back in maynooth at approximately 22.45. The bus us not compulsory and swimmers can make their own way to trainings if they wish. We also compete in various competitions throughout the year, namely the Intervarsity Championships which is usually mid way through second semester. We also organise various fundraisers throughout the year such as the Rose of Maynooth.
The club is an excellent way to meet new people from various different courses and areas. Swimming is also a great way to keep fit and de-stress from college work. Our training sessions are run by our coach Shauna who is a fully qualified high performance coach, who also trains the NAC swimming teams.
