Maynooth University 

Maynooth University last night clinched their first ever senior division one title against UCD with a last minute point from Darragh Warnock. A curling pointed effort in the 64th minute brought the Ryan cup home to Maynooth on a perfect November night for football in DCU. Congratulations to team and management on a great achievement.

Intermediate training takes place at 8:20 pm on MU GAA Pitch with home game quarter final against St.Marys taking place on Wednesday at 2pm changing rooms 5+6. Fresher training takes place on tuesday at 6pm on MU Gaa pitch with first round of championship on Thursday against UCD at home match at 7pm dressing rooms 1+2. Junior championship takes place also on thursday away in DCU against DCU bus leaving at 6:15 pm match at 8pm

freshers will train on tuesday the 12th at 6pm on the AWP and have a challenge match on Thursday the 14th bus departs at 4pm

Senior mens football team will train at 10 am on Monday the 11th on MU Pitch and again on wednesday at 7pm on AWP. Inters and juniors will train together on wednesday at 8pm on AWP.

seniors will train at 8:15pm on the pitch on north campus on monday the 4th and again at wednesday the 6th at 7pm on the main pitch. itermediates and juniors will train on the AWP on monday at 8pm and play a challenge game on Thursday against freshers at 7pm on main pitch

Freshers will train on tuesday the 5th December at 6pm on the gaa pitch located on north campus and have a training match on thursday the 7th December on the pitch at 7pm

The Fresher mens training resumes this Tuesday November 7th on the all weather pitch from 6 - 7. The side then face Dunboyne under 21s on Thursday November 9th on the MUGAA pitch with throw in at 8 o clock.

The mens sigerson side resumes training this Monday November 6th from 6 - 7:30 on the MUGAA pitch. The side will face Queens University Belfast on Thursday at 7 o clock in the League quarter final, with the bus leaving at 3.

The mens junior side face the Royal College of Surgeons this Monday 6th also in Clann na nGael at 8 o clock. The bus leaves at 5:30. The inters and juniors then train on Thursday November 9th on the all weather pitch from 7 - 8 o clock. 

The Freshers sides face UCD this Tuesday 24th October with the Freshers A throwing in at 8 o clock and the Freshers B side throwing in at 6:30.

Both teams will also train on Thursday from 7-8 on the All Weather Pitch.

The Men's Sigerson side train this Monday at 8-9 this Monday on the All Weather Pitch, on the eve of their League game against IT Sligo at home on Tuesday. That game kicking off at the GAA Pitch at 6:30.

The Intermediate side also face IT Sligo on Tuesday with that game throwing in at 7:45.

All training cancelled for both senior 1 and 2 tonight the 16th due to the storm. Training will re-commence Wednesday until further notice. Please keep an eye on MSU life and also team group chats for further details.

The Fresher training continues this Tuesday 10th on the All Weather Pitch from 6 to 8 o clock.

The Fresher 1 & 2  are in league action this Thursday against DIT at home with the games at 3:15 and 4:30 respectively. Get down and cheer on the Fresher lads to victory!

Men's senior training continues this Monday 9th October at 7 o clock sharp at GAA Pitch.

The Sigerson and Intermediate sides play NUIG this Thursday in Galway in the first League Game of the year.

The Senior 3 (Junior) side take on DCU Dochas Eireann on Tuesday 10th in DCU with the bus departing from the Students Union at 4:45

Trials for Mens Senior and Intermediate football squads take place on Monday 25th September at 8.20pm sharp.

Meet in dressing room 5&6 from 8pm.

FT Maynooth University 1-11 NUIG 0-14

This was the final group match for the Maynooth University Senior team  as they welcomed NUIG to Maynooth and the result is a frustrating one for the home side. A good first half and leading by 6 points at half time Maynooth University looked to be in control and in a good position at half time. NUIG made life difficult for Maynooth as they restructured their defence and tried to anchor their defence by employing a sweeper system. Maynooth found it hard to get to grips and cope with this and NUIG gradually clawed their way back into this game. A final blow was dealt as with four minutes to go Maynooth had a penalty saved. A draw serves as heart break to Maynooth as a win would have seen them progress to the knock stages of the the Senior Division One League for the first time ever.

FT Maynooth University 5-22 GMIT 1-11

The Maynooth University Senior team built on their positive first performance by making a winning trip out West to GMIT. Playing with the wind in the first half Maynooth squandered three goal chances which would have asserted a clear advantage going into the second half. Despite playing into the wind in the second half and only leading by a few points the work rate of all players increased to stretch the lead further and further until they ran out convincing winners.

FT Maynooth University 1-18 DIT 3-23.

Although the result may not have gone the way of Maynooth University senior hurling team there were many positives to be taking from this performance vs D.I.T. in Grangegorman on Wednesday the 12th of October. Despite missing some players due to club committments and with little collective training done, the players gave a good account of themselves and put in a good spirited performance for the college. The scoreline doesnt reflect the closeness of the game and the savage effort and work rate produced by the players. Hopefully this promising start will continue as we take on GMIT next Tuesday in Carnmore and with more training that we will continue to flourish.
