"Ceiliúradh is the final step in the Rover Service project cycle. It is all about celebrating the work carried out by rover crews within their section, group and wider community. It gives rover crews the chance to share their experience from their service project as well as connect with other crews, all the while inspiring others to take on service projects of their own. This Ceiliúradh will be a special one as there has not been an event such as this for rovers since before the Covid-19 pandemic. Due to this, there have been 4 years of projects that have not been celebrated. To make this a memorable celebration of all the work carried out by rovers our theme is "A night at the Roscars"(Rover Oscars). Rovers, their Advisors and Group leaders will be able to nominate individuals and crews to receive a Roscars. This could be for exceptional service within a rover section, a completed rover service project or an award for special recognition. The event will take place in a formal setting with attendees encouraged to dress formally. A meal will be served following the awards ceremony. The award ceremony will then take place. Following the awards ceremony there will be a dance. Come play Bingo for Charity at John Hume Lecture Hall 7 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m on December the 18th. There will be vouchers and treats to be won!

Come join the Rovers to put your orienteering skills to the test with out Christmas Scavenger Hunt through the town of Maynooth. We will be meeting at the MSU at 7:30pm. On the night, there will be prizes to be won for the fastest team to complete the hunt. There will be various challenges and games along the way. Christmas jumper optional but there will be a prized for best dressed. 

Join us from 2pm till 4pm in Silken Thomas Yew meeting room in the MSU info centre on the 3rd December for gingerbread house making. Pop in between lecture to join the committee to set the Christmas season in motion. 

Join us for an indoor camping experience! We will be setting up tents in the small sport hall on the 28th November, beginning from 8:30pm. Throughout the night there will be games, movies and free pizza. The event will finish the next morning at 9am.

Join us at the amphitheatre as we welcome everyone back from study week! There will be announcements of upcoming events, smores, and a great atmosphere!

Rovers will be hosting a pumpkin carving afternoon in JHL5, starting at 4pm and ending at 7pm. Pop in at anytime and come carve your own pumpkin. Pumpkins and carving utensils will be provided, as well as snacks and refreshments!

We plan to do the Howth cliff walk on the 19th of October. It will be a great way to meet new members and enjoy the scenic views. Members can make there own way to Howth at 11am or join us at Connolly Station to catch the dart.

Come join us at 6:30pm on Tuesday 15th October in John Hume Tutorial room 1 for a night of games and fun. There will be card games and board games, and if there's a game you would like to play, don't be afraid to bring it. If you are interested, the games night can be carried on by heading to the Quiz night in the Roost.

Maynooth University Rovers have organized a hike to Howth on November 11th, and they're taking on the breathtaking Howth Cliff Walk. The route offers stunning scenic views of the Irish coastline, with the rugged cliffs and the vast expanse of the sea stretching out before you. As they trek along the cliffs, they'll be treated to panoramic views of Dublin Bay, Lambay Island.

We're coming to the end of this academic year so we're holding our AGM to elect new committee members on Thursday the 4th of May, which is taking place at the Amhiptheatre on Thursday! Hope we will see you all there! 

We are happy to announce that our first event of the semester will be a Rover Campfire. It will be a great opportunity to announce our upcoming plans in regards to intervarsities and of course to see each other again, hopefully we might see a few new faces. The campfire will take place at 6pm on Tuesday the 21st of February at the amphitheater on North Campus. With the weather getting warmer (finger's crossed) and the ordering of new camping gear we hope to get back to regular rover scouting.

We will meet at Phoenix Sports Centre at 9:30am as the bus departs at 10am. This will give us adaquate time to complete the hike and have a lunch break.

The bus will depart Glendalough back to Phoenix Sports Centre at 4:30pm

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear and pack rain gear. Water and a packed lunch will also be necessary for the hike. We ask that no pets such as dogs are brought on the walk for safety reasons. Please book into the event on Mulife.

We are happy to be announcing a collaboration event with MU Rock Climbing Club. We shall be joining them for a roped climbing session in Awesome Walls on Wednesday, 23rd of March at 6pm. The session will cost €20 and shall be for an hour and a half. There is only 15 spaces available so booking on MuLife is mandatory and will close 12 hours before the event. We shall be meeting at the venue 10 minutes before our session, if you have any questions about transport feel free to contact us and we will do our best to assist.

On Saturday 5th March we will be meeting at Leixlip train station at 10am to begin our Royal Canal/Leixlip Hike. We hope to complete the hike by 2pm that day. It was great to meet everyone at the campfire last week. We are happy to announce that we will be holding Rover Survival 101. The event will take place on Wednesday 9th of February at 7:00pm in CB4. At this event we hope to introduce our members to the basics of camping, hiking and emergency skills. These skills will be very useful as we move through this semester and get ready to get back outside. Whether or not you are new to these skills or just just want to brush up on them, we hope to see you there!

HI Guys! We are excited to announce our first hike of the year! We will hike from Bray to Greystones along the scenic cliff walk on Saturday the 16th of October. We will be meeting outside Cassoni's Fish and Chips (Bray) at 11:30am and after the hike will leave leave Greystone's at 3pm. A group will meet in Maynooth to travel there and back. You can either meet us in Bray or Travel with this group.

This group will meet at Maynooth Train station at 8:30am. Participants are advised to bring twenty euro for transport costs. Tickets for transport will be acquired individually be each participant on the day of the event. We plan on travelling from Maynooth, into Connolly station and from there, using the D.A.R.T to continue on to Bray.

Participants are asked to wear appropriate clothing for walking and avoid items such as jeans and shoes that provide little support. We also asked that participants bring rain gear incase of a change in weather. Participants are asked to also bring a packed lunch with plenty of water.

Please note that this is a ticketed event. Tickets can be acquired on MUlife  up to 12 hours before the event.

This year we will be hosting our AGM and Campfire in the Amphitheatre behind the Arts Building on North Campus. We look forward to seeing both our new members and returning ones to kickstart another year. We have numerous committee positions up for grabs along with a host of events to be announced. In line with Covid-19 guidelines this will be a ticketed event with a limited number available. Tickets are free and can be acquired on MUlife. Tickets are essential for admittance. We also ask attendees to wear masks and adhere to social distance guidelines before, during and after the event. In the case of bad weather we will the AGM indoors. We hope to see you all there!

We hope everyone had a nice break but now its time for some fun. We are hosting an AGM and campfire (featuring smores) next Wednesday at 6pm in the Amphitheater between the Arts and Callan Buildings.

This year climbing IVs is being hosted by DCU in Awesome Walls  in Dublin, 14th-16th February. This event costs €35 per participant and all participants must sign up as members to Awesome Walls.

This is our annual opening hike to Glendalough. Will will be hiking the Minors trail and aim to be back on campus by 6pm.

The cost of this event is €10.

Everyone needs good shoes, a rain jacket and lunch.

This will be a 7 vs 7 competitive style escape room. Escape rooms are a great way to get to know other club members as it requires teamwork. The cost of this event is €20.

We will be having a games night/movie night in CB3 this Wednesday where we will be playing some board games and watching a movie.

MU Rovers will be hosting our AGM this coming Tuesday at the Amphitheatre located between Arts Block and Callan Building at 18.30. We will have pizza and smores and a lovely open fire where we will introduce you to all our lovely current committee members and we will elect our First Year Rep and PRO! We look forward to seeing you all there! If it is raining, never fear! We have CB1 booked just in case!!

Rovers will be ready to chat from 9am so feel free to drop in at any point throughout the day. You'll have the chance to talk to some of our committee members, ask any questions you might have and discover what we have planned for this semester.

Glendalough hike to gauge level and ability for future activities.

Maynooth Rovers will be challenging DIT Rovers to a friendly game of Bubble Soccer on Thursday the 15th of Feburary. The event will take place in Coolmine Leisure Centre and we shall be meeting outside the SU at around 4 to take a train and a bus there. There are limited spaces so sign up ASAP. Its sure to be a fun event and a great way to meet Rovers outside of Maynooth. 

We will be electing a new Treasurer at this EGM! This is also a fun social event where you can toast marshmallows!

UCC Rovers are holding the Winter is Coming Rally in Fota, Cork! As you can all guess.. this may be Game of Thrones themed! A fun and relaxed camp for all rover clubs and societies in Ireland. Based in Fota, participants will be able to attend a range of adventure activities over the weekend.

Halloween's coming and Rovers, together with ACD are celebrating the occassion with a little bit of pumpkin carving! Its your chance to show off your spooky and spectacular pumpkin carving skills! So join us on Tuesday 25th from 12pm-2pm!

Time for Rovers first hike of the semester! Will be heading to Glendalough to hike around the area and see the views! We will be leaving from the SU at 13:30. Ensure to dress warmly!

Rovers are going to an indoor climbing Inter varsities. We depart Friday from the SU, take a train to Dublin and then a bus to Cork arriving at 17:00. The competition takes part on both Saturday and Sunday at Awesome Walls Cork. We then leave Cork at 19:00 on Sunday and arrive in Dublin at 22:00 where everyone is free to make their own way home.
